About Wedding Creative & Design
Yvette is the owner and lead designer at Wedding Creative and Design. For the past ten years she has been helping brides realize the vision they have for their wedding day. From day of coordination to full wedding planning Yvette will immerse herself in the process because she is passionate about weddings. She is here to make the process as seamless as possible because her philosophy is that the only thing the bride and groom should worry about is enjoying and celebrating their day of love.
M eet Yvette
I was born in California, an L.A. girl to be specific! Our family then moved to Maui, Hawaii and one day my dad met someone from Alaska who was snow-birding. They talked about the beauty of the Last Frontier and my dad was like "Let's go to Alaska!" We still moved around these 3 states as a family for a while until we finally settled in Alaska during my high school years.
I am a Dimond High graduate who took Radio/TV Production at the King Career Center so I could become the next Diane Sawyer. That's where my experience in editing and doing my podcast come from.
I met an Alaskan boy 17 years ago and we just celebrated our 15 year wedding anniversary. Fun fact: For our honeymoon we went to the beach for his first time ever since he had never experienced riding a wave let alone been at a beach. During football and basketball season you'll find us watching and rooting for our teams the 49ers and Lakers.
People ask me why I do weddings? Well we got married in '05 and my experience as a bride is something I never wish a bride should ever go through. Having a venue wedding coordinator is not the same as a wedding planner and I found that out the hard way. Everyone in my family including myself worked on the day of our wedding instead of relaxing and enjoying it.
So when I'm not helping brides I'm being a mama bear to 5. I've been in Alaska for over 25 years now and its HOME! You'll find this little wedding planner camping, fishing, hiking, blueberry picking and wearing my XTRATUF boots or snowshoes (whatever the weather may be).
I also love a good whiskey on the rocks while listening to music. Dancing is in my blood probably because of my Spanish roots! And yes I LOVE speaking Spanish especially to Abuelitas and Tias!
